Despite Construction, the State House is Open to Visitors

We are upgrading our HVAC system to better maintain air quality and humidity levels at the Vermont State House. This will help us preserve out precious artwork and artifacts. Right now, the State House is deploying 68 dehumidifiers that must be manually emptied twice a day!

During construction we ask that you enter the State House by the doors on the east and west of the building, and the door at the back of the building on the west side, which is ADA compliant.

During the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday through Friday you will be greeted by a friendly volunteer staff person and offered a guided or self-guided tour. You can also visit the cafeteria for soups, sandwiches and other offerings — with ingredients sourced from Vermont when available.

We also have a gift shop, Under the Dome, which is located in Room 1, off the main lobby of the State House. You will find a range of items from Vermont magnets, travel books, mugs, glasses and much, much more.

Please come visit when you are in town.
