Find Out Information About Being a State House Tour Guide

Flood Recovery Photo Exhibition

The State Curator’s Office and the Friends of the Vermont State House are seeking volunteer tour guides to help students learn about Vermont’s system of government and civic values. After three years, the State House is finally fully open to the public and we are eager to make up for lost time in engaging the youth that constitute the future of our democratic society!

No prior knowledge of the State House is necessary! Prospective tour guides will be able to sign up to attend training sessions and shadow current tour guides to sufficiently develop their knowledge of the subject matter.

Scheduling is flexible! School groups generally visit the State House Tuesday-Friday during the spring. Tour dates are advertised to volunteers in advance, who then choose what best suits their availability. School tours usually last 45 minutes each.

If you are interested in joining us please RSVP to the State House Tours Coordinator, at visit@leg.state.vt.us.
