Volunteer at the Vermont State House

Become a Volunteer at the Vermont State House

We invite you to join us as a tour guide, greeter or gift shop staff person at the Vermont State House.

Volunteers at the State House greet visitors, conduct tours and staff the Under the Dome Gift Shop. We invite you to participate in one of these roles, according to your availability and interest. It’s a great way to learn about the State House, get to know other volunteers, meet people from all over the world and contribute to Vermont’s proud heritage of civic responsibility. The State House is open for tours year-round, with a focus on public tours during July through October, and school tours from January through June. The Friends of the Vermont State House sponsors a gift kiosk and gift shop which is open limited hours during the Legislative session and open full time for the peak tourist season.
